-In the oldest rivalry in Division I history, Minnesota claimed Paul Bunyan’s Axe for the third time in four seasons with a 24-7 win.
-The temperature at kickoff was 22 degrees, the coldest for a Badger home game since the 11-degree 1964 meeting between the two programs.
-Gopher QB Max Brosmer threw for 191 yards on 17-of-26 passing for two touchdowns to go along with a rushing touchdown as well.
Prospect Spotlight
Minnesota CB Justin Walley
-Walley tallied the first sack of his collegiate career and added four solo tackles in the win.
-The 5-11 defender also recorded his team-best 10th pass breakup against the Badgers.
-Walley currently projects as a mid-to-late-round pick who can elevate his standing with a good showing in the postseason.
Looking Ahead
Minnesota S Koi Perich
-The true freshman safety led the Gophers with eight tackles, including a game-high seven solo stops.
-Perich finished the regular season with 42 tackles, with 21 of them coming in the final two weeks against Wisconsin (8) and Penn State (13).
-Perich also contributed the first two pass breakups of his collegiate career against the Badgers.
