Bowl season has come and gone but several performances will be remembered for a while. Here’s a look at our 2024 All-Bowl Team.
QB Kyle McCord | Sr. | Syracuse | DirecTV Holiday Bowl
McCord needed 268 yards to become the ACC’s single-season passing leader. He ended up throwing for 453 and five touchdowns, finishing the year with an FBS-best 4,779 yards through the air.
RB Dylan Edwards | So. | Kansas State | Rate Bowl
Edwards set both the Kansas State bowl game and Rate Bowl record with 196 rushing yards in a 44-41 K-State win. He had 223 yards of total offense and three scores in the game.
RB Cam Skattebo | Sr. | Arizona State | Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl
Texas ended up getting the win, but Skattebo stole plenty of headlines with an incredible performance in the Peach Bowl. The Arizona State back had 242 all-purpose yards - 143 on the ground - two rushing scores and even threw a touchdown pass in the Sun Devil’s overtime loss in the CFP.
WR Giles Jackson | Sr. | Washington | Sun Bowl
Jackson set the Sun Bowl record and tied a single-game program mark with four touchdown grabs, the last of which came with nine seconds to play in what turned out to be a one-point loss for the Huskies. Jackson scored on four of his 11 catches and totaled 161 yards in the game.
WR Jeremiah Smith | Fy. | Ohio State | Rose Bowl
Smith looked dominant against the Oregon secondary, hauling in seven catches for 187 yards and two touchdowns in the Rose Bowl. His first touchdown grab set the Big Ten record for receiving scores by a freshman.
TE Harold Fannin Jr. | Jr. | Bowling Green | 68 Ventures Bowl
Fannin Jr. put together an incredible stat line with 17 catches for 213 yards and a touchdown. The performance helped him set the single-season FBS records for receiving yards by a tight end (1,555) and receptions by a tight end (117).
OL Cory Godinet | Jr. | Texas-San Antonio | Myrtle Beach Bowl
UTSA was balanced and productive against Coastal Carolina, gaining 257 yards on the ground and 256 through the air in a 44-15 rout. Godinet did not allow as much as a quarterback hurry in the win.
OL J.C. Davis | Sr. | Illinois | Cheez-It Citrus Bowl
Davis turned in a clean sheet with no pressures or penalties from the left tackle spot in a 21-17 win over No. 14 South Carolina.
OL Brady Small | So. | Army | Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl
Bryson Daily may have won MVP honors but Small played big in front of his QB, paving the way for 127 yards, three scores, and the FBS record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback with 32.
OL Hampton Ergle | Sr. | East Carolina | Military Bowl
Pick a Pirate lineman, as ECU dominated the line of scrimmage with 473 yards of total offense including 326 on the ground. Making his 26th consecutive start, the 6-foot-7 Ergle helped spring running back Rahjai Harris for an 86-yard, game-winning touchdown with less than two minutes to play.
OL Kelvin Banks Jr. | Jr. | Texas | Cotton Bowl
The Longhorns didn’t get the outcome they hoped for, but Banks was as good as advertised, allowing just one pressure in 47 pass-blocking snaps against a very good Ohio State pass rush.
DL Derrick Moore | Jr. | Michigan | ReliaQuest Bowl
Moore led a Wolverine defense that harassed Alabama’s Jalen Milroe all game long. He finished the win with four tackles, two sacks, and a fumble recovery.
DL Justin Reed | Sr. | Navy | Armed Forces Bowl
Reed tallied the quarterback sack on a two-point conversion with six seconds to play, giving Navy a 21-20 win over Oklahoma in the Armed Forces Bowl.
DL Pryce Yates | Jr. | Connecticut | Fenway Bowl
Three of Yates’ tackles came behind the line of scrimmage for the Huskies in a 27-14 win. The UConn defense held North Carolina to 206 total yards, 10 first downs, and zero third-down conversions.
DL Jack Sawyer | Sr. | Ohio State | Cotton Bowl
Sawyer had the defining play of the Cotton Bowl, sacking Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers on a critical 3rd-and-goal play and returning Ewers’ fumble 83 yards for a game-sealing touchdown. Sawyer tallied three tackles, two hurries, and a strip-sack to send the Buckeyes to the National Championship.
LB Isaiah Glasker | So. | Brigham Young | Valero Alamo Bowl
The BYU defense shut Colorado down in the Alamo Bowl and Glasker was the leader of that unit, totaling eight tackles, one tackle for loss, and an interception in a lopsided win.
LB Dom DeLuca | Jr. | Penn State | CFP First Round
DeLuca gave a spark to the Nittany Lions in their first-ever CFP win, returning one of his two interceptions in the game for a touchdown. He added five tackles and half-a-sack in the win.
LB Cody Simon | Sr. | Ohio State | Rose Bowl
Simon won Defensive MVP honors at the Rose Bowl after leading the Buckeyes with 11 tackles, three tackles for loss, and a pair of sacks.
CB LaMareon James | Sr. | Texas Christian | Isleta New Mexico Bowl
The stats don’t jump off the page, but James tallied three pass breakups for the Horned Frogs. That not only represents a new New Mexico Bowl record but also brought his season total to 14 - the second-most by a TCU defender in the last decade.
CB Isaiah Hamilton | Sr. | Mississippi | TaxSlayer Gator Bowl
Hamilton picked a good time to tally his first interception of the season… and he returned it 50 yards for a touchdown. It was the first pick-six for Ole Miss since 2021.
S Jaylon Jimmerson | Sr. | Sam Houston State | R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl
A standout of the December bowl games, Jimmerson had 10 tackles and intercepted two passes, taking one to the house for Sam Houston State.
S Xavier Watts | Sr. | Notre Dame | Sugar Bowl
Watts was named the Defensive MVP of the Sugar Bowl after totaling seven tackles - six solo - and a tackle for loss in Notre Dame’s win over Georgia.
K John Cannon | So. | South Florida | Hawai’i Bowl
Cannon was 3-for-3 on his field goal tries, which included a 41-yard game-winner in the Hawai’i Bowl.
P Marshall Nichols | Jr. | UNLV | Boca Raton Bowl
Nichols had a 42.7-yard punting average and put two inside the 20-yard line, but the real story was his fake punt that picked up 52 yards for the Rebels.
